The Goan Association (UK) is a voluntary organisation founded in 1966 and incorporated as The G.O.A (UK) Ltd in 1983.

The Management body comprises of a Board of Elected & Appointed Directors (for names and telephone numbers click here). All office-bearers serve in a voluntary capacity and this has been the case since its inception.

Goan community hailed for achievements in the uk

The invaluable services of the Goan diaspora were praised at a special event at the House of Commons which was hosted by Swindon MPs, Heidi Alexander and Will Stone along with the Goan Mayor of Swindon, Imtiyaz Shaikh and Swindon Councillor Adorabelle Amaral-Shaikh. A special medal struck for the event were presented to various deserving members of the Goan Community, which included our President, Ravi Vaz.

We are thrilled to announce that our Finance Director, Flavio Gracias, has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in the King’s Birthday Honours List. This accolade celebrates his outstanding contributions to the community in Ealing.

Flavio Gracias with Sir Kenneth Olisa,OBE., Lord-Lietenant of Greater London, following the presentation of the British Empire Medal (BEM) at the investiture held on Friday 22 November 2024, at the Tower of London.

In Flavio’s own words, “this recognition from his Majesty is as much part for my community work as it is of all the Directors and volunteers, who have served with me over the years. I would like to thank you all for the tremendous support / have received from you since I returned to the Board. I look forward to continue working with you serving the community, as part of the Goan Association (UK), which this month celebrates 58 years of service to the Goan Community!!”
