Rosa Philipina De Souza Monteiro. 
(fondly known to her friends as “Nora”)

Born to Life on 7th May 1933. Born to Eternal Life 28th October 2025.

It is with great sadness the Monteiro family announce the passing of Rosa ‘Nora’ Monteiro (nee D’Souza). Loving wife of the Late Cornelius Monteiro (ex-Nairobi); most loved mother of Cecil Monteiro; beloved daughter of the late Antonio and late Blandina D’Souza; loving sister to the late Effie D’ Souza (Goa), late Dolly / late Louis Colaço (Goa), late Mackey / late Olga D’ Souza (San Francisco), late Lydia / late Leo D’ Souza (Kenya), Lina / late Oswald De Souza (UK) and Vincent D’ Souza.

The family are sad to announce the death of Maria Dias, who passed away on 12th October 2025 at the age of 91. She was born in Nairobi, Kenya, and is the only sister of seven brothers: John, Vincent and late Stephen / late Florence, late Dammy / Irene, late Paul, late Michael and late Francis.

The Funeral Service will take place at St Jude’s Church, 76 Blurton Road, Clapton Park, London, E5 0NB, at 12.00 noon on Monday 17 November 2025.  It will followed by a Burial at Manor Park Cemetery & Crematorium, Sebert Road, Forest Gate, London E7 0NP.
